Just found this (4/5/08) and merged it into this blog.
Well, here it is...my first public blog. I doubt that any one will religiously read this; that being if anyone at all ever reads this...lol. Anyway I thought a great way to begin would be to show you all where all I have been and give you a little history about me. I was born and raised in the great state of Texas!
When I was around the age of 12 or 13 we moved to Oklahoma. I did not want to move and I was very angry about having to move; but once there it was not so bad. In fact, to this day those are still some of the best years of my life. We lived in Oklahoma for four years during which I was attending school from the grades 7-11 while residing there. As ridiculous as this will sound those four years were just like the movie 'Dazed and Confused' it was amazing!
...I digress...we then moved back to Texas where I barely finished out high school (long story...maybe for another post). Then when I was around 21 years old I moved to California on a whim.
It turned out to be the best move I had made in life up to that point. During a nine year stint in California I became a little more responsible...lol. I also got two degrees. One in Computer Programming and another in Business Management. During that time I also became a member of not one, but three different National Honor Societies. Quite the turn around from the direction I was heading before moving away from Texas in '97.
Skipping ahead...in 2006 I moved to Virginia. I had just finished school and was on top of the world. Everything was great! Well...for a little while it was. A year later my health had deteriorated, I was severely depressed (which I did not know how to handle because I had never experienced it before), I had a job in which I was completely unhappy, and I was really having trouble adjusting to life here on the east coast.
Well, here we are now in 2008! I went back to Texas for the holidays to visit my mother and my sister which was just what I needed to recharge my batteries and my zest for life. I have since minimized drinking, smoking, and eating out. I go to the grocery store one a week (at minimum) and cook daily! For anyone that knows me at all...the three aforementioned accomplishments (especially all at the same time) are truly amazing!
I am finally becoming me again. 2008 should also be the year that I finally get back to California and I can get my life back on track and try to get my career going in the direction I want it to. I would even like to go to graduate school at some point!
Well, that is all for now folks.
